We have quality control for every order to make sure your slices are:
- Flat and level
- Have no cracks or splits
- Uniform thickness (within a size range)
- Reasonably smooth surface (even when unsanded)
- Full ring of bark
- Within the stated size range
Please keep in mind wood slices are a natural product and they do differ in terms on shape, bark size and markings. Some pieces may have an occasional side branch nub.
Any pieces that don't make the cut for our standard listings, ends up in our seconds listing.

This pack includes 30 natural pine wood slice ornaments, each sanded smooth on both sides and supplied with a red ribbon already threaded through the hole. Simply hand them out and let students decorate their own ornament to take home or hang in the classroom.
The natural timber surface works well with common classroom craft supplies including:

They’re ideal for school Christmas craft activities, early learning centres, holiday programs, community groups and other group Christmas activities.
Because each ornament is made from real timber, every piece has slightly different grain, bark and shape, giving each student something genuinely unique to decorate.

Sizes refer to the approximate diameter measured from bark edge to bark edge:
- Small: 4–6 cm
- Medium: 6–8 cm (most popular)
- Large: 8–10 cm
- Extra Large: 10–12 cm
Approximate thickness:
- Small: ~5 mm
- Medium: ~7 mm
- Large & Extra Large: ~9 mm
As these are made from natural branches, exact diameter, shape, grain and bark will vary from piece to piece.

Locally sourced Australian-made product
Our ornaments are made from radiata pine harvested by Stringybark Supplies in Victoria.
Radiata pine is an introduced species in Australia. Much of the timber we use is collected from areas where removing the pine helps create space for native vegetation to regenerate.
Each ornament is cut, sanded and prepared in our workshop before the ribbon is added, ready for decorating.
