These large wood slices are classified as seconds due to cosmetic or dimensional imperfections. They’re a popular option for rustic décor, centrepieces and bulk projects where natural variation is part of the look.

What we mean by “seconds”

All of our wood slices go through quality control. Pieces that don’t meet the standard for our full-price listings are offered here at a reduced price.

Seconds may include one or more of the following characteristics:

• Cracks or splits (typically from the edge toward the centre, never fully broken)
• Surface discolouration or markings
• Slightly uneven or not perfectly level (still flat enough to place most objects on)
• Missing or reduced bark around the edge
• Minor stem or branch outgrowths
• Some variation in timber type (predominantly pine)

Even as seconds, slices are not mouldy, completely broken, or unusable.

• Diameter: Please select from the option list - note that there will be some variance in size, but the size chosen will be the minimum size supplied.
• Thickness: Typically around 2 cm, but may vary between approximately 1.5–3 cm in seconds pieces

These slices are generally still suitable for table centrepieces and display use, particularly when aiming for a natural or rustic aesthetic. They’re not recommended if you need every piece to be uniform or visually perfect.
